State of the Womb is a mixed media mosaic born from collective voice, shared experience, and radical care. Designed and led by Empact Art, this work was created in collaboration with Baltimore City Women's Commission, the Office of Equity and Civil Rights, Morgan State University, community advocates, practitioners, and agency partners.

The mosaic serves as both an artistic expression and a civic artifact—a visual record of community knowledge translated into action. It reflects the lived realities, wisdom, and aspirations of Baltimore City residents engaged in conversations around maternal and perinatal health. Alongside this artwork, a maternal health advocacy priority list was developed directly from the insights shared during the convening, affirming the inseparable relationship between art, advocacy, and policy.

Gifted to Morgan State University on International Maternal Health Day January 23, 2026 as a living symbol of partnership, accountability, and ongoing dialogue.
